(comment) ## Greetings & Announcements I may have jumped the gun on a start date on Big Dig Academy. The further I get into it, the more work that needs to be done on the front-end. I don't have an ETA for you and don't want to keep promising a date I won't be able to keep up with, but when I know you will know. I expect fairly soon. ## Segments ### Former Obama Advisors #### Jim Messina ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/FKyWCMzg/BDE-Capture-33.png) ##### "Real Primaries" — Sanders Considered Primarying Obama in 2012: [Report](https://web.archive.org/web/20240302195802/https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/02/bernie-sanders-primary-obama-2012-social-security.html) - ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/wMG0sH4H/BDE-Capture-33.png) ##### **The Messina Group** - [Profile Archive](https://archive.ph/RX6hQ) — "Named "The Obama White House's Fixer" by the media, Jim Messina is perhaps the world's most successful political and corporate advisor." - ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/37nbW7XB/BDE-Capture-33.png) #### David Axelrod - [David Axelrod Under Fire for Saying ‘Killer Storms’ in Rural North Carolina Could Hurt Trump Voter Turnout](https://www.mediaite.com/news/david-axelrod-under-fire-for-saying-killer-storms-in-rural-north-carolina-could-hurt-trump-voter-turnout/) ![](https://x.com/ClayTravis/status/1842266889617330598) - Former Obama advisor David Axelrod is under fire after commenting that North Carolina's "liberal voters" in "blue" Asheville would "find a way to vote" for Vice President Kamala Harris despite Hurricane Helene's devastation, while rural Trump supporters who had their "homes and lives destroyed" might struggle to reach the polls. - The hurricane, which caused widespread flooding across several south-eastern states last week, including North Carolina, left a death toll of at least 225, many missing and hundreds of thousands of people without power. - On his podcast Hacks on Tap, Axelrod offered his own take on what the destruction meant for election turnout in November. > Here's my question about North Carolina. You had these killer storms, which, by the way, was a third big story this week. These killer storms, and there's a lot of displacement in western North Carolina. > > Now, Asheville is a blue dot in that area. But those voters in Asheville are, they're, you know, the kind of voters who will figure out a way to vote. You know? They're upscale voters, kind of liberal voters, and they're probably going to figure out a way to vote. I'm not sure a bunch of these folks who've had their homes and lives destroyed elsewhere in Western North Carolina, in the mountains there, are going to be as easy to wrangle for the Trump campaign. > > I don't know how that's all going to play out but it's an unpredictable element in North Carolina that has made it a little more interesting. ![](https://x.com/MZHemingway/status/1842247710260318502) **Axelrod led the way for running Biden out.** ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/W13ktKQp/BDE-Capture-33.png) ### FEMA & Unified Command ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/RFRS7CHk/BDE-Capture-33.png) [PDF Link](https://www.nrt.org/sites/2/files/ICSUCTA.pdf) <div style="left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 60%;"><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https://www.nrt.org/sites/2/files/ICSUCTA.pdf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen></iframe></div> [PDF Link](https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ICS300Lesson04.pdf) <div style="left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 60%;"><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ICS300Lesson04.pdf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen></iframe></div> #### National Response Team [Member Agencies](https://www.nrt.org/NRT/Members.aspx) [About Page](https://www.nrt.org/NRT/About.asp) Standing Committees The NRT has three standing committees: Preparedness, Response, and Science and Technology. When deemed necessary by either individual NRT committees or the NRT in its entirety, the NRT will establish Ad Hoc committees and/or workgroups to address issues that exceed the capabilities, resources or available time of its standing committees. Preparedness Committee - The NRT Preparedness Committee provides support to OnScene Coordinators (OSCs) and Regional Response Teams (RRTs). The purpose of the Preparedness Committee is to improve both oil and hazardous substance incidents preparedness for the response system. The Preparedness Committee implements activities designed to assist the RRTs in enhancing their preparedness capabilities, improve preparedness for responses to oil and hazardous material spills, prevent spill impacts to the natural and built environments, and reduce safety hazards to first responders and the public. Response Committee - The NRT Response Committee provides support to OSCs and RRTs. The Response Committee also provides the NRT a forum to assess the effectiveness of oil spill and hazardous substances incident reporting and response mechanisms established by the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), provides a feedback loop to OSCs and RRTs regarding their reports of response actions, makes recommendations regarding improvements to the response system. Science and Technology Committee - The NRT Science and Technology Committee serves to provide technical support to OSCs and RRTs on issues relating to oil and hazardous substances releases; on-going, past and proposed research; developments in technology; and recommendations for future national research and development. <div style="left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 60%;"><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https://www.nrt.org/sites/2/files/NRS%20Brochure_updated_JAN%202020.pdf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen></iframe></div> %%Footer Starts Here%% --- ![[Brain Icon 1.png|center]] <b><font color="#ffffff"> <center>You might not have noticed it… but your brain did.</center> </font></b> --- ### Tags ### Linked Pages & Footnotes
