Many of the bones were intentionally broken and the fragments are covered in cut marks, the result of people using stone tools to separate them and remove the flesh. What’s more, 42 per cent of the bone fragments bear human teeth marks. There is little doubt: the people who lived in this cave 14,700 years ago practised cannibalism. > > Today, cannibalism is a taboo subject in many societies. We see it as aberrant, as is clear in films such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. We associate it with zombies, psychopaths and serial killers like the fictional Hannibal Lecter. **==Positive stories of cannibals are few and far between. But perhaps it is time for a rethink because, despite our preconceptions, evidence is accumulating that cannibalism was a common human behaviour.==** ### Abstract Representation is Dying ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/mgcXyJwj/BDE-Capture-17.png) > there are certain groups of special-label people for whom suspending their disbelief to indulge in fantasy of any kind is simply impossible. > > they push for LITERAL representation because they aren't capable of relating to something in abstract. > > and they're the reason why everything in entertainment is getting so much worse. ![](https://twitter.com/Slatzism/status/1769368292081139755) > "where are the BIPOCS in this show about feudal japan?" But what if philanthropy committed to resourcing narrative work that would enable us to manifest our highest aspirations? > > Funders can play an important role in closing the gap between who we are and who we aspire to be, but it will require us to engage in shared learning, experimentation, and funding the narrative infrastructure that is needed for global justice movements to win. ### Gamergate 2 [Link](https://twitter.com/Lyde15/status/1767330020324991309) ![](https://twitter.com/Lyde15/status/1767330020324991309) ![](https://twitter.com/AFoulBeast/status/1767344448873107652) %%Footer Starts Here%% ---

--- ## Tags ### Linked Pages & Footnotes
