Next Friday, September 8th is the 2-year anniversary of The Late Night L Stream/Big Dig Energy! I am planning on doing something special for the show, but I'm not sure exactly what just yet. I realize that day lands on a Friday... but it kind of works out, because since the last show I learned that my grandparents are celebrating their 60th anniversary on that Saturday. So, we can do a 2-year shindig, and also I can go to their anniversary. :) Originally I did say it would be on Saturday. Sorry for the change! I will let you know more when I have more planned out. # Segments ## Trump Returns to TV ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/t4qmXd2T/BDE-Capture-6.png) But no, it's not a revival of The Apprentice. Earlier today, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee said he will allow a YouTube stream of all related hearings and trials. [Source](https://archive.ph/us5xi). ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/8cft0tpK/BDE-Capture-6.png) Trump entered a "not guilty" plea, and waived his arraignment appearance, which was scheduled for [September 6th](https://archive.ph/i4Lg6). [**Side Note:** An arraignment is the initial appearance in open court. Its purpose is to advise the defendant of their right to know the charges against them, as such, the judge formally reads the charge or charges to a defendant and asks the defendant how they plead. I had to make sure I knew, so just in case you weren't familiar.] [Not Guilty Archive](https://web.archive.org/web/20230901010834/https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23932848/23sc188947-waiver.pdf) <center><div style="left: 0; width: 90%; height: 100%; position: relative; padding-bottom: 90%;"><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fs3.documentcloud.org%2Fdocuments%2F23932848%2F23sc188947-waiver.pdf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height:90%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></center> Some of the 18 co-defendants named in the case have also already waived their formal arraignments and pleaded not guilty to charges, including Sidney Powell. A date for the trial has not yet been set. But not all is entirely corrupt in the legal system, which brings us to: ## Covid Tyranny Overturned ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/Bv3k19Sq/BDE-Capture-6.png) > A judge has reinstated a Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center nurse who was fired for refusing to be vaccinated for Covid-19, and in so doing cast a disapproving look at how public officials handled the pandemic. > > An arbitrator’s January decision upholding Wendy Cooper’s firing was “irrational, violative of public policy and contrary to the interests of justice,” State Supreme Court Justice Emilio Colaiacovo ruled. > > The judge directed Roswell Park to negotiate over her retroactive pay and benefits. > > Colaiacovo called the issue before him narrow: Did the arbitrator rationally decide Cooper’s case? But his written decision offered a wider criticism of how some public officials overstepped their bounds while others ceded their powers to others amid the pandemic. > > “Ms. Cooper is an unfortunate victim in the wake of excesses exhibited by governors, administrators, legislatures, and yes, even the judiciary,” Colaiacovo wrote in his decision. “All too frequently did critical thinking and the exercise of personal liberties expire at the altar of false righteousness, fear and authority.” [Ruling Archive](https://web.archive.org/web/20230901005813/https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/buffalonews.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/b/0c/b0c46c4a-4364-11ee-84cf-eba8eaf1a64e/64e8d76c19486.pdf.pdf) <center><div style="left: 0; width: 90%; height: 90%; position: relative; padding-bottom: 90%;"><iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fbloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com%2Fbuffalonews.com%2Fcontent%2Ftncms%2Fassets%2Fv3%2Feditorial%2Fb%2F0c%2Fb0c46c4a-4364-11ee-84cf-eba8eaf1a64e%2F64e8d76c19486.pdf.pdf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 90%; position: absolute; border: 0;" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></center> Pick up here: https://archive.ph/NwZAK#selection-4055.0-4055.84 ## Freedom of Reach Congratulations to Brian Herder for being the first person to use the phrase "freedom of reach" on Twitter about Twitter... and to also wind up being completely wrong. Fifteen years later, of course. [Archive](https://archive.ph/aAgyo) ![center](https://i.postimg.cc/QN6RHyK7/BDE-Capture-6.png) On November 18, 2022, Elon Musk tweeted, "New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach."
