He was 64 years old. A Texas native, Hardwick is best known for his work on Mike Judge's animated series King of the Hill, where he voiced Dale Gribble. Though Hardwick also served as a writer and a story editor during the show's 13-season run on Fox, appearing in 257 of the show's 258 episodes. > > Dale Gribble was one of the neighbors of the Hill family and was a chain-smoking conspiracy theorist who worked as an insect exterminator but also worked other jobs, such as a bounty hunter. > > Phil Hendrie, who voiced several characters on King of the Hill, including Channel 84 News journalist Tom Chick and Coach Sauers, tweeted out a tribute to Hardwick on the social media platform X. > > In addition to King of the Hill, Hardwick also appeared on the reality TV series Ace of Cakes and Boomer vs Zoomer. While the series has been dormant since last year, it was announced that the cartoon was being revived, though instead of heading to Fox, the show will air on the streaming service Hulu. Yesterday morning, a death announcement was posted to the Instagram belonging to Lil Tay.  > From [TMZ](https://www.tmz.com/2023/08/10/lil-tay-social-media-star-still-alive-instagram-hacked-fake-death-hoax/): Tay's fake death was announced Wednesday morning on her Instagram … the statement said her "sudden and tragic passing" is an "unbearable loss," adding her family is in complete shock. > > The statement also claimed her brother died, "Her brother's passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief." > Lil Tay got her fame as the "World's Youngest Flexer" that rapped and showed off a lavish lifestyle across social media. She's garnered 3.2 million followers on Instagram, but hadn't posted on the account since 2018.  This is all developing, but it's to the point where even her Wikipedia page still says "was."  The reports have turned out to be untrue in a series of events that are convoluted, complicated, and honestly not worth delving into too much. But as the initial reports were emerging, some of the hottest takes were rolling out on Twitter, including from this "comedian." And helping to make my grifter money.  ## Greenlight & Bill Gates As you are probably aware, there is a current writer's strike going down that has brought many productions in Hollywood and elsewhere to a screeching halt.  Not all is terrible, though. You might not have noticed if you're not a regular watcher, but plenty of people are worried about their favorite late-night TV being [on hiatus](https://archive.is/20230714065058/https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/13/business/hollywood-actors-writers-strike-tv-movies.html):  It is [still ongoing](https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/striking-hollywood-writers-studios-meet-discuss-resuming-talks-2023-08-04/):  However, some of the implications of this [are concerning](https://www.reuters.com/technology/disney-creates-task-force-explore-ai-cut-costs-sources-2023-08-08/):  The incoming takeover of AI in entertainment is likely inevitable, but certainly is likely being hastened by the ongoing strike. And while large conglomerates have been recently beginning their own task forces, there is one entity waiting in the wings that is poised to make a killing and continue to cement its already-enormous footprint in the entertainment landscape:  What is Branded Entertainment Network, AKA [BENLabs](https://www.wikiwand.com/en/BENlabs)?
