# Lizzo Lawsuit

**From [Page Six](https://archive.is/20230802173252/https://pagesix.com/2023/08/01/lizzo-sued-by-dancers-for-allegedly-forcing-them-to-watch-sex-shows/):**
> Three of Lizzo’s former dancers are suing the “Good as Hell” performer, as well as Big Grrrl Big Touring and Shirlene Quigley, for allegedly subjecting them to endure weight-shaming, sexually denigrating behavior and pressuring them to participate in disturbing sex shows.
> While on a concert trip with the Grammy Award-winning artist to Amsterdam in February 2023, the plaintiffs claim Lizzo invited them for a night out on the town — which ended in the city’s red light district. The area is known for its sex theaters, sex shops and clubs and bars where nudity is on full display.

> The lawsuit states, “… things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas.”
>
> The suit also claims Lizzo allegedly “pressured” and “goaded” Davis into touching one nude performer’s breasts.
>
> The plaintiffs claim that, just a month later, Lizzo, 35, deceived them once again into attending a nude show, thereby “robbing them of the choice not to participate,” the documents state.

> Davis also claims in the lawsuit that at one point, she had no choice but to “soil herself” on stage during an “excruciating” re-audition, “fearing the repercussions” of excusing herself to go to the restroom.
>
> Eventually, Lizzo allegedly fired Davis “on the spot” after learning Davis had recorded one of their meetings even though it was in order to have “a copy of the notes” the artist provided.
>
> Rodriguez resigned shortly thereafter out of solidarity with Davis and the “disrespect” Lizzo allegedly showed her.
>
> The lawsuit claims she “feared that Lizzo intended to hit her and would have done so if one of the other dancers had not intervened.”
> The plaintiffs are suing for general and special damages, as well as punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.
>
> “The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are … absolutely demoralizing,” the plaintiffs’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement.

Specific claims made against Lizzo and her dance captain Shirlene Quigley in a lawsuit filed by her ex-dancers:
Lizzo:
• Accused of overworking dancers and making the group re-audition in an “excruciating” 12-hour rehearsal. Those she was “dissatisfied with” would be fired and sent home.
• Accused of firing a dancer for challenging her claim that the group was drinking before performances.
• Accused of making a “thinly veiled” comment relating to a dancer’s weight gain and later firing her for recording a meeting while suffering an eye condition.
• Accused of coercing a dancer into touching a woman's breast at a strip club despite the dancer opposing.
• Accused of inviting her dancers to a nude cabaret bar without disclosing the specifics of the performance.
Quigley:
• Accused of trying to convert the dancers to her religion.
• Accused of scolding the dancers for having pre-marital sex.
• Accused of unwarrantedly discussing masturbation and sexual fantasies with the group.

> The lawsuit, filed by three of Lizzo’s former dancers this week, also alleges misconduct by her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., and her dance team captain Shirlene Quigley. Among the claims included in the suit is that Lizzo pressured dancers into unwanted sexual situations, made statements that were perceived as thinly veiled comments about a dancer’s weight gain, and put people through grueling rehearsals that led to one dancer soiling herself.
> Other allegations were tied to religious harassment. The suit alleges Quigley spoke extensively about her religious views as a Christian and berated those who didn’t share these beliefs. It claims that one dancer’s virginity was frequently discussed against her will, and that dancers were pressured to participate in group Christian prayer, regardless of their religious beliefs. All three defendants did little to remedy such actions despite knowing about them, the lawsuit claims.
> Another part of the suit highlights concerns Lizzo had allegedly expressed about Davis’s struggles on tour, including comments Davis perceived as “thinly veiled” concerns about weight gain. Such statements followed alleged remarks Lizzo previously made about Davis’s weight, which the suit claims led her to feel self-conscious and required to speak on the issue. The suit details, too, a grueling surprise audition dancers already hired on the tour had to undergo in order to keep their positions, during which Davis soiled herself out of fear that she would lose her spot as a dancer if she went to the restroom. Davis claims she was then given transparent shorts to change into.
